Yesterday was a beautiful day. Sunshine radiating, birds chirping, flowers blooming – I was even able to get a nice little bronzed base by sitting outside for a half hour.
Happy spring!
I spoke too soon. Rain, rain, rain today. I don’t know about you, but I like to coordinate my polish with the seasons. Dark hues for fall and winter, neons and pastels for spring and summer. So what’s a girl to do when D.C. weather is so hot and cold?
I turn to my lifesaver – what I call my transition shades: neutrals! Take a look at some of my favorites 🙂
Yes, please!
Neutrals are beyond versatile. They serve as a perfect transition from day to night, casual to formal and from winter to spring!
Who doesn’t love receiving packages? I know I do, and especially when I know it’s my perfect little Birchbox package full of beauty goodies arriving on my doorstep. For those of you who are not yet familiar with Birchbox, it’s a monthly package packed with beauty samples – everything from designer fragrances and lipstick hues to headbands and organic shampoos and conditions.
I think I may be Birchbox’s number one fan after discovering Serge Normant’s Meta Revive Dry Shampoo and Tan Towels Self Tanning Towelettes in my box a few months ago. I’m beyond obsessed with these two products now – might not have found them without my trusty and convenient Birchbox, which is only $20/month. You’ll see, you get a lot of bang for your make-up buck!
Here’s the rundown of my October box, which was amazing, as per usual:
1. Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser: Apparently this facial cleanser is a UK favorite! The Liz Earle Cleanse uses a two-step ritual to purify and exfoliate your skin. It comes with two pure muslin clothes. I tried it today and felt 100% refreshed. I’ll keep you updated on if I see some major skin-glow in the next few weeks as I use it. Full-size price: $21.50
2. Fake Up Eye Concealer by Benefit: This may be up there with Serge Normant’s Dry Shampoo and Tan Towels for me. This eye concealer by Benefit is pretty great. Definitely brightened up tired-looking eyes. It also doesn’t apply on too thick, which is hard to find. Definitely a keeper! Full-size price: $24
3. Pop – Aqua Lacquer Lip Gloss in “Floating Rose”: I personally am more of a lipstick girl than a lip gloss girl. But on the bright side, my mom loves gloss so I threw this product her way – she is a fan! The “Floating Rose” hue was a pretty color but there was way too much sparkle for me personally. I’ll stick to classic reds and plums thank you very much. Full-size price: $14
4. Hydration Lock stick by Chapstick: This product was one of the many “Birchbox Finds” meaning it was an extra sample thrown in – which I’m always a fan of. And this Hydration Lock Chapstick was no exception. I don’t know how many times I’ve needed Chapstick and cannot round one up in the bag of my big, unorganized satchel.
So go ahead and glam it up with Birchbox. You will not be disappointed!
